4TH FOUNDATION DAY LECTURE (FDL)
The National Productivity Centre hosted its 4th Foundation Day Lecture (FDL) on the 25th June, 2009 in Abuja Nigeria.
This lecture is one of the core programmes of the National Productivity Centre designed to
bring the issue of productivity to a national focus through the sharing of experiences of other nations in their efforts towards higher
productivity. This is with a desire to reawaken the productivity consciousness of the citizenry.
The lecture is a one-day, programme organized once in two years under the aegis of the Centre’s liaison/International Linkages Programme.
Participants and discussants
are drawn from the academia and research institutions, the diplomatic corps, public service, industries as well as the informal sector
of the Nigerian economy.
OBJECTIVES
The overall objective of this programme is to educate Nigerians on productivity movements in various
parts of the world and to generate a national discourse that will stimulate the development of a productivity mindset among all Nigerians.

IMPACT
Speakers at the previous Foundation Day Lecture were either members of the International Productivity
family or Nigerians whose contributions to global discourse have been symbolic.
The Foundation Day Lecture has been a veritable tool
for reaching large segments of the society and arousing their consciousness on the subject of productivity mirrored from the global
perspective.
